1974: Bayern Munich won the first of three consecutive European Cups, beating Atlético Madrid 4-0 in a replay.
1981: Birthday of Leon Osman, an English football player who plays for Everton in the Premier League and the England national football team.
2004: Paul Robinson signs for English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.
Cricket
1932: Birthday of Peter Burge, an Australian cricketer who played in 42 Tests between 1955 and 1966.
1945: Birthday of B. Chandrasekhar, legendary former Indian leg spinner. He was considered among the top echelon of leg spinners and he constituted the Indian spin quartet that dominated spin bowling during the 1960s and 1970s.
1968: Birthday of Mickey Arthur, South African cricketer who played South African domestic cricket from 1986 to 2001. He coached the South African national team from 2005 to 2010, and is the current coach of the Australia national cricket team.
Tennis
1966: Birthday of Mark Kratzmann, an Australian tennis star.
1970: Birthday of Renzo Furlan, an Italian tennis star.
Basketball
1966: Birthday of Danny Manning, an American college basketball coach and retired NBA player who is current men’s head coach at Tulsa.
1970: Birth of Hubert Davis, a retired American professional basketball player who played in the NBA.
