1966: Birth of Wasim Akram, who is regarded as one of the greatest left-arm fast bowlers in history of the sport. He was a genuine left arm fast bowler who could bowl with significant pace and left-handed batsman who represented the Pakistan national cricket team in Test cricket and One Day International matches
1971: Imran Khan kicked off his top-level career with 5 runs and 28 wicketless overs against England at Edgbaston.
2000: The last international for Mohammad Azharuddin and Ajay Jadeja. While Azhar was dismissed for 1, Jadeja went on to top-score for his side with 93 off 103 balls.

1964: Hosts Israel won the AFC Asian Cup with a 1-2 win over two-time defending champions South Korea.
1985: Birth of Papiss Cisse, a Senegalese footballer, who plays as a striker for Newcastle United and the Senegal national team.
1985: Birth of Lukasz Piszczek, a Polish footballer who plays for German Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund as a right defender, and he has been capped by Poland at international level.
1992: Birth of Mario Gotze, a German footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga and the German national team.
2009: Sunderland appoint former Manchester United captain’ Steve Bruce as their new manager.

1986: Birth of Rafael Nadal, a Spanish professional tennis player and a former world No. 1 who is regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.
