Milan – There was a meeting yesterday as expected for some time. Next week, after mutual reflections by both clubs, there will be decisive acceleration to close everything. Inter technical director Marco Branca and Genoa President Enrico Preziosi have laid the first foundation for negotiations involving Mattia Destro, atypical striker (very dynamic) with great personality but he is only 21 years old. This operation is not easy but this contact between both parties have certified what was reported weeks ago: Inter want Destro again. The Italian striker was at one time an Inter player but now the Nerazzurri must find a way to recapture him with tricks and counterparts.
Vice-Milito- Mattia – a brand new Azzurro and it is very possible that he will be elected for the next European competition – is divided between Genoa and Siena by virtue of co-ownership which will soon be resolved in the favor of the Liguria club. For this reason, the first to be contacted must be Genoa President Enrico Preziosi and Inter did just that. Yesterday Inter have officially asked for the player. Let’s recall that Destro ended up at Genoa in the deal that brought Inter Andrea Ranocchia. Stramaccioni the other day described him as “a player who has demonstrated the ability to play in a difficult league like ours.” Moral: Mattia Destro is the vice-Milito with a consequent sale of Giampaolo Pazzini, the sale which we will discuss more later.
Kucka, Longo and… - So how are Inter going to get talented striker? Kucka, the player that Inter paid 7 million euros for half of him, could once again belong to the Rossoblu in a Destro-package. Then watch out for Samuele Longo, the current Inter central forward which made his debut during the last league game in Rome against Lazio. He is also co-owned between Inter and Genoa and his contractual status could become a loan deal to Genoa. But there is a third part: cash. Preziosi values the player at 20 million but for Inter, his value is at 15. Considering the involvement of Kucka and Longo, 8-9 million would be enough. This deal is just at the very beginning but it is more possible now because the player wants Inter and vice versa.
Pazzo to leave?- At this point, it is clear that Giampaolo Pazzini (the current vice-Milito has already lost a spot with Italy) would be hard to accept the arrival of another central striker. Important proposals for Pazzini are not lacking in Italy as well as abroad. Napoli could ask for him in a Lavezzi-Tango. PSG’s Ancelotti is also interested as he already wanted the Italian striker during his days at Chelsea. Then there is Lazio as well. In short, Destro has already taken Pazzini’s spot in the Italian national team will he do the same at Inter? Things will go slowly but we’ll see.
Chapter Lavezzi - Another striker who could be on his way to Inter is Ezequiel Lavezzi. The whistles and jeers on Sunday have become a chorus of hope. “Pocho, bring us the Cup,” shouted the approximately 150 fans stationed outside the restaurant where there was the usual end of the year dinner. Lavezzi was last to arrive but many were there just for him. “Stay with us” was the most popular chant of the evening. The atmosphere was much more calmer than the one at the San Paolo Sunday evening. During the dinner, De Laurentiis was caught by cameras uttering the phase of doubtful interpretation towards the Argentinian: “Long Live Lavezzi!” That was said at the time of toast. A toast which tasted like a goodbye. Lavezzi’s agent, Alejandro Mazzoni, will return to Italy this weekend and with him offers from Inter and Paris Saint Germain will be evaluated.
Alternatives - Inter’s notebooks have priorities and alternatives. As the Lavezzi deal is becoming more concrete, Inter are also looking at a few midfielders. Nigel De Jong (Manchester City) remains the ideal man due to his experience and strength but here also appears Borja Valero, 27 years old, the man of Villareal that just got relegated. And perhaps because of this fall, the request of the Yellow Submarin could soften: 7-8 million. Borja Valero is the alternative of Nigel De Jong.
Maicon, Kolarov - New rumors arriving that Mancini’s Manchester City could ask for Maicon in the deal for De Jong. That’s the first option. The second is for Kolarov. Just rumors. In all of this, there is even a track leading to Papu Gomez: the player is followed very closely by Vincenzo Montella but Inter and his agent are already talking. “Inter are very interested,” said Leo Rodriguez to Itasportpress. Marco Branca could speed up the situation in favor of Stramaccioni. Lastly we have Lucas. The Daily Mail wrote yesterday: “Forget Lucas, he will go to Inter.” According to the newspaper, Inter have already made an offer to Sao Paulo. The last piece of news concerns Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio. Inter will renew his contract for another four years and it could happen in just a few hours.
