Joshna Chinappa moves up to 11th in the world
India's highest ranked squash player in the world Joshna Chinappa improved her stature further by rising to 11th place, her career best as per the latest ranking list released by the Professional Squash Association.
Joshna was at 13th place, her previous personal high, until now and her good shows in the Asian team championship in Chinese Taipei and more recently the HKFC international in Hong Kong where she finished finalist helped boost her rankings. Significantly, she is the only player who has progressed by two rungs in the top twenty. Joshna now finds herself one place above Annie Au of Hong Kong whom she had beaten twice in recent times.
Her team-mate Dipika Karthik (Pallikal) also improved her position by a rung to 18th place. The other top twenty Indian, Saurav Ghosal who despite injury break keeping him off the circuit in recent times still had done enough to rise by one place to 17th rank.
