Anahat Singh breaks into top 100 of PSA World Rankings; Ramit Tandon holds his spot

India’s Anahat Singh has broken into the top 100 of the latest squash rankings. The teenager jumped 10 places to No. 93 in the rankings with 60 points. Having bagged six PSA challenger titles this year, Anahat has shown stupendous form. Elsherbini Nour is the top-ranked player in the women’s category followed by Gohar Nouran and El Hammamy Hania.

India’s Ramit Tandon is placed 28th in the rankings. Ramit broke into the top 20 for the first time in his career last month. He had lost to Mohamed Elsherbini of Egypt in the first round of the Comcast Business US Open 2024. Abhay Singh also reached his career-high ranking of No. 54.

Farag Ali held on to his top spot with 2261 points from 14 tours. Mostafa Asal is second with 1836 points. Diego Elias, Paul Coll, and Mazen Hesham are third, fourth, and fifth respectively.


Anahat Singh’s rise to fame

The 16-year-old recently became the champion in the prestigious Costa North Coast Open 2024, defeating Japan’s Akari Midorikawa 3-0. The scores in the final read 11-6, 11-6, 11-6, 11-6.

Back in January, she won the JSW Willingdon LMS tournament. Then in April, Anahat came up trumps in the Hamdard Squashters Northern Slam. In June, Anahat grew in stature after claiming the HCL Squash Tour in Chennai.

For Anahat, the month of August was similar to a fairytale. Firstly, she won the Reliance PSA Challenge 3 tournament followed by the HCL Squash Tour in Kolkata.

Anahat is now looking for her seventh title this year. After he triumphed in the Costa North Coast Open, Anahat is now set to participate in the Sydney Slam, which is scheduled to take place from November 6 to 10. She also won the Juniors and Seniors National this year.
