Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships 2024: Three Indian players storm into finals
Pakistan Squash Federation has the current hosting rights for the Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships 2024 in Aabpara, Pakistan. Indian squash players had an excellent day in the knockouts on Day 4 of the campaign. Let’s shift our focus on which players made it to the final on Day 4 of the Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships 2024.
Moving into the details of the fourth day, Goushika M started off on an excellent note for India, defeating Malaysia's Maisarah Binti by 3-2 in a contest that lasted for 36 minutes.
Though Goushika started with a win in the first game, she couldn't continue the momentum in the next two games, losing both of them. However, she made a strong comeback to win the fourth and fifth games to steal the win and make it to the final.
On the other hand, Aadya Budhia, one of the young squash sensations, had an impressive affair in the semi-final against Chiu Hau Ching from Hong Kong.
The other Indian player Aadya started with wins in two consecutive games. Though Chiu Hau made a comeback in the third game, winning it, Aadya was quick to get back to steal the fourth game and overall match to storm into the final.
Shiven Agarwal, on the other hand, defeated local lad Nouman Khan by 3-1 to make the cut for the final. In other matches, Shameena Riaz defeated local player Minahil Aqeel and Singapore’s Lee Zi Fang in the consolation quarter-final and semi-final respectively to enter the consolation final.
