Indian squad for 31st Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships announced
The Indian squad for the 31st Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships has been announced. They are set to participate with an 11-member squad in the tournament, which begins on Tuesday, June 25, in Islamabad, Pakistan.
The Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship, organized by the Asian Squash Federation, serves as a platform for players to showcase their talent and improve their performances. The tournament will be held over five days.
India's squad comprises talented young athletes and numerous players are seeded in their respective age categories.
In the boys' categories, Yusha Nafees, who is seeded sixth in the U-17 category, has been included in the squad. Shiven Agarwal, a tough contender, is seeded fifth in the U-15 category. He is accompanied by Lokesh Subramani.
Competing in the U-13 category, Dhruv Bopana is the youngest male participant. He is a testimony to the bright future of Indian squash. Looking at the girls' category, 5th-seeded Nirupama Dubey and 9th-seeded Shameena Riaz are included in the U-19 category.
Unnati Tripathi, seeded sixth, will have a competitive edge in the U-17 category. The U-15 category included Ankita Dubey who is seeded eighth, followed by Diva Shah who is seeded ninth. They will be keen to take this opportunity and make a statement.
Aadhya Budhia, seeded second, and Goushika M, seeded fourth, are two key participants with immense potential in the U-13 category.
With the 31st Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships set to commence on Tuesday in Islamabad, the young Indian athletes will be keen to put up a great show and inspire the next generation of squash players in the country.
The squad has arrived in Pakistan for the tournament. The Squash Rackets Federation of India (SRFI) took to their official X handle to make the announcement.
