3 players who can win a medal for India in athletics at the Paris 2024 Olympics

The Olympic Games are underway in Paris and Indian athletes are doing quite well. Given their recent performances in the Asian Games and World Athletics Championships, the nation is trying to live up to its hopes for athletics.

Of course, the competition is stiff and includes many strong countries, but India stands humbly in readiness to leave its mark on the world scene.

On that note, let's look at three possible athletes who can win a medal for India.

Neeraj Chopra - Javelin Throw

All hopes are pinned on Neeraj Chopra, the standout athlete who can retain his gold medal. The javelin thrower has been a consistent presence since 2021, winning numerous medals on both the global and national stages.

His most significant achievement to date is clinching the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. He continued his success by winning gold at the World Championships 2023 in Budapest, following a silver in 2022.

Additionally, Neeraj triumphed in the Diamond League in 2022 and secured back-to-back gold medals in the Asian Games 2018 and 2022. His athleticism and form make him a strong contender for another medal at the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024.

Jyothi Yarraji - 100-meter hurdles

Jyothi Yarraji is the first Indian to participate in the 100-meter hurdles at the Olympics. She has had a great career so far, overcoming adversity and challenges in the earlier stages of life. She won a silver medal in the 100-meter hurdles at the Asian Games 2022.

Jyothi won a gold medal in the 100 meters hurdles and a silver medal in the 200 meters hurdles at the Asian Athletics Championships, in 2023. Although this is her first time at the Olympics, much is expected from her to win a medal.

Muhammed Anas, Muhammed Ajmal, Amoj Jacob, Santhosh Tamilarasan, and Rajesh Ramesh - Men’s 4x400m Relay Team
