Chinese Taipei’s Chou Tien Chen will be Lakshya Sen's next opponent at the Paris Olympics, as the two shuttlers clash swords in the quarterfinals. The Taiwanese boasts an impressive repertoire of skills, and the encounter promises to delight.
Chou has been one of the most successful men's singles players to emerge from Chinese Taipei in recent years and has been a consistent performer on the international stage for a decade now. The 34-year-old won his first BWF Super Series title in 2014, claiming gold at the French Open.
The shuttler had a remarkable year in 2018 with the introduction of the BWF World Tour, winning the German Open, Singapore Open, as well as the Korean Open, and finishing as the runner-up in three different competitions.
2019 saw Chou Tien Chen win his first Super 1000 event, after he beat Denmark's Anders Antonsen in the finals. That season, he also won the Thailand and Chinese Taipei Open.
Chou’s long resume in the men's singles events includes one World Championships, Thomas Cup, and Asian Champions bronze, as well as a silver and two bronze at the Asian Games.

Up next, Chou dismantled Hong Kong’s Lee Chuek Yiu, taking him down 21-18, 21-13. With that, the 34-year-old made it through to the round of 16, where he faced Japan's Kodai Naraoka. What was expected to be a tight match turned into an absolute display of dominance from the Taiwanese, as he steamrolled over Naraoka 21-12, 21-16.
Now, the shuttler will take on India's Lakshya Sen, and fans will wait excitedly to see who emerges victorious.
