Winning a medal for India at the Olympics is of huge pride to an athlete. Winning multiple medals from the prestigious Games shows the athlete's staunch determination as well as longevity at the top.

Around the globe, there are numerous athletes who have won two medals of any color in similar or different Olympic Games. However, for India, the number is pretty less.

Until today, India has won a total of 37 medals at the Summer Games and there are only a handful of athletes who have managed to bring in medals more than once. Interestingly, such incidents have happened only in recent times, in the past 12 years to be more precise.

In this article, we will look at the Indians who have won two Olympic medals. However, we will put into consideration only those cases which are post the Independence of India.

#1 Sushil Kumar

Former wrestler Sushil Kumar was the first Indian post Independence who won two medals. His medals came in consecutive Olympic Games.

Kumar participated in the 66kg discipline in both 2008 Beijing Olympics and 2012 London Olympics. The 2008 Games saw him deliver a bronze and he upped his performance in the next edition to grab a silver medal.

#2 PV Sindhu

One of India's most celebrated athletes of recent times, PV Sindhu is a part of the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024. However, the grand stage of the quadrennial event is not something new for her.
