India shooting schedule for Paris 2024 Olympics: Complete player list, dates, timing, telecast
The Paris Olympics 2024 is less than 40 days away and the Indian shooting contingent is gearing up for the showpiece event in a full-fledged manner. India will field a total of 20 shooters at the upcoming Olympics.
In the second week of June, India announced 15 names for the shooting events at the Summer Games. Following the conclusion of the ISSF Shotgun World Cup, another five names were announced in the shotgun discipline.
India has won only four medals so far in shooting at the Olympics. In the Athens Games in 2004, it was Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore who won the first-ever shooting medal for the nation (silver). Following his footsteps, Abhinav Bindra went on to create history four years later when he bagged a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics.
The London Olympics 2012 saw India secure yet another medal, this time in the form of bronze, courtesy Gagan Narang. India's last shooting medal interestingly came in the same competition, when Vijay Kumar won a silver in the 25m rapid fire pistol discipline (men's).
