This memorable moment in the torch relay comes shortly after another significant achievement for Bindra. On Monday, he was awarded the prestigious Olympic Order by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), recognizing his outstanding contributions to the Olympic Movement.

This accolade, the highest honor given by the IOC, celebrates individuals who have made distinguished contributions to the Olympic Movement through remarkable and meritorious achievements in sports.

Abhinav Bindra will be officially presented with the Olympic Order during the 142nd IOC Session in Paris on August 10, just a day before the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics.

Abhinav Bindra made history by winning the gold medal in the men's 10-meter air rifle event at the 2008 Beijing Games, becoming India’s first individual Olympic gold medalist. His victory brought immense pride to the nation and inspired a new generation of athletes to pursue their Olympic dreams.
