Deepika Kumari Husband: Who is the veteran Indian archer married to?

Deepika Kumari, one of the top Indian archers in the world, is married to Atanu Das, another Indian archer who specializes in men's recurve individual and team events. They tied the knot on June 30, 2020.

Atanu Das has had an impressive career in archery. He, along with fellow archers and teammates Dhiraj Bommadevara and Tushar Shelke, won the silver medal at the 2022 Asian Games after losing the final to the Republic of Korea.

At the World Youth Championships 2011, he won a silver medal in the men's team event. In 2019, he secured another silver medal at the World Archery Championships. Deepika and Atanu won a bronze medal together at the 2013 World Cup mixed-team event organized in Colombia.

In addition to this, Atanu won multiple medals, including a gold and a bronze at the 2021 World Cup. At the Asian Games 2023, he secured a bronze and finished in the same position at the Asian Archery Championships 2019 in men's team and mixed team events.

Atanu Das has represented India at the highest levels. He qualified for the Summer Olympics held in Rio, where he reached the quarterfinals. He also qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics but was eliminated in the round of 16 after losing to Japan’s Takaharu Furukawa with a score of 4-6.


How did Deepika Kumari perform at the Paris Olympics 2024?

This was Deepika's fourth Olympics participation after London 2012, Rio 2016, and Tokyo 2020.

In the 1/8 elimination round, she defeated Germany’s Michelle Kroppen with a score of 6-41. Advancing to the quarterfinals she faced Nam Su-Hyeon from South Korea and kept her on the back foot for the first three rounds.

Deepika Kumari dominated the first and third sets with scores of 28-26 and 29-28 respectively while the second set was tied with a score of 28-28. However, she couldn't respond to Su-Hyeon's comeback and lost the fourth and fifth sets with scores of 27-29 and 26-28 respectively.
