"Genuinely bemused at the low-fi opening ceremony so far" - Fans react to Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony
The Paris Olympics 2024 kicked off today (July 26) in the City of Lights with a grand opening ceremony. Fans are usually aware that any opening ceremony takes place inside a stadium or a indoor auditorium, however, for a change and to create something new, the opening ceremony for the Paris Olympics was organised in the city itself and in open.
A total of 85 boats were seen carry 6,800 athletes from 205 countries on the Sienne River between Pont d'Austerlitz and Pont d'Iena. The entire six km route was surrounded by more than 3,00,000 fans in 100+ grandstands. However unqiue the opening ceremony might be, it had mixed reactions from fans.

Fans although were critical of the opening ceremony but some of them were in dire wait of their favourite singer Celine Dion.

An user also praised the entire concept and organisation of the Paris Olympics' opening ceremony.

One user praised how the nations were introduced in the ceremony.

India at the Paris Olympics opening ceremony
A total of 117 Indian athletes will take the pitch (or court or river) in between July 26 and August 11. However, only 23 of them were present in the opening ceremony. India's youngest athlete Dhinidhi Desinghu alongside flag-bearers PV Sindhu and Sharath Kamal were present.
Tennis duo Rohan Bopanna-Sriram Balaji, archer Deepika Kumari and even table tennis star Manika Batra and Tokyo Games' bronze-medalist boxer Lovlina Borgohain were there too.
