Arshad Nadeem outperforms Neeraj Chopra to clinch gold at Paris Olympics 2024
Many saw the men's javelin throw finals at the Paris Olympics 2024 as an India vs Pakistan contest. India's Neeraj Chopra was seen by many as the strong favorite to defend his Tokyo 2020 gold. Arshad on the other hand was expected to pose a tough challenge for Chopra.
However, not many expected Arshad to go past Neeraj in the race to a gold medal finish. Nadeem exceeded all expectations, with not one but two 90m+ throws in the final. Neeraj on the other hand clinched the silver medal with a throw of 89.45m in his second attempt.
