Hockey India announces 28-member core probable group for training camp ahead of Paris Olympics 2024
The Indian men's hockey team has announced a 28-member core probable group for their upcoming coaching camp as they prepare for the Paris Olympics 2024.
The camp will focus on fine-tuning the skills of goalkeepers, defenders, and midfielders ahead of the FIH Hockey Pro League matches in Belgium and London. The camp will run from April 21 to May 13 at the SAI Centre in Bengaluru.
The Indian team recently visited Australia for a five-match Test series. In the next two legs of the FIH Hockey Pro League 2023-24, they will face Argentina, Belgium, Germany, and Great Britain in Belgium and London.
The team, led by head coach Craig Fulton, includes experienced players like Akashdeep Singh and Mandeep Singh, as well as promising young talent. The main emphasis will be on addressing areas for improvement identified during the tour to Australia.

Craig Fulton, the India head coach, emphasized the importance of the upcoming camp by stating:
"We are looking to begin an important block of training in this camp, and we need to make sure that we are in the best shape possible ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics. We have an exciting group of experienced players along with some young players. The tour to Australia has helped us in realising where we need to work on and I always believe that we can work on our shortcomings and look to set things straight well before the final leg of the Pro League and the Paris 2024 Olympics."
The core group of the national coaching camp for the Indian men's hockey team includes goalkeepers Krishan Bahadur Pathak, PR Sreejesh, and Suraj Karkera. Defenders Harmanpreet Singh, Jarmanpreet Singh, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, Sumit, and Amir Ali, Amit Rohidas.
The midfielders in the core group are Hardik Singh, Manpreet Singh, Nilakanta Sharma, Rabichandra Singh Moirangthem, Rajkumar Pal, Shamsher Singh, Vishnukant Singh, and Vivek Sagar Prasad.
The list of forwards in the core group includes Abhishek, Akashdeep Singh, Araijeet Singh Hundal, Boby Singh Dhami, Dilpreet Singh, Gurjant Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Mandeep Singh, Mohammed Raheel Mouseen, and Sukhjeet Singh.
