"Hoping something big from them" - Fans express joy on Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty's dominating opener in Paris Olympics 2024
The iconic duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty started their Paris Olympics 2024 campaign in style. In their group stage clash against hosts France's Lucas Corvee and Ronan Labar, the Indian duo knocked them out by a 21-17, 21-14 scoreline.
Notably, both Rankireddy and Shetty dominated proceedings from the word go as they always held the upperhand in the clash. Deemed as one of the medal hopefuls for India in this ongoing Summer Games, the duo have certainly put on a statement early on by beating the host nation on their home turf.
Fans have always been hopeful of the Sat-Chi duo and expect them to bring home a bright coloued medal from Paris. The duo has been in fine form for the last few years and have been also called the modern day BhuPaes duo of badminton.
Fans were quick to come to social media and opine on the dominating show put on by the Sat-Chi duo.

Another fan lauded the fight put on by Corvee and Labar but ultimately highlighted the strong start put on by the Indian duo.

One fan however, spoke how easy it will be for Sat-Chi until the next round.

India's performance on Day 1 in badminton at the Paris Olympics
The first day of the Paris Olympics looks extremely positive for India, especially in badminton. Prior to Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty's dominating win, debutant Lakshya Sen also registered a sensational win over Guatemala's Kevin Cordon. Sen won the match 21-9 and 22-20, putting on a brilliant comeback in the second game where he initially trailed to Cordon.
