Anish Bhanwala has enjoyed tremendous success in both junior and senior circuits. The 25m rapid-fire pistol is the youngest Indian to win a gold at the Commonwealth Games and is now set to carry India's shooting medal hopes at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Anish secured the Olympic quota in the men's 25m rapid-fire pistol event at the Asian Shooting Championships 2023. He placed third with 28 points, earning a bronze medal for himself and India's third Olympic quota in pistol. The 21-year-old carried his dominant form to the Olympic Selection Trials, which took place in Delhi and Bhopal in April-May.
Anish Bhanwala topped the men's 25m rapid-fire pistol event during the four-stage Olympic Trials. Following a moderate score of 578 in the first round, the Commonwealth champion shot an impressive 582 and 587 in his next two rounds. The comeback was followed by another impressive score in the fourth round. He topped the charts with a final average score of 585.13 to qualify for his maiden Olympic Games.
Anish will represent India in the men's 25m rapid-fire pistol, the qualification round of which is scheduled for August 04. Having earned tremendous success over the last couple of years, Anish will be expected to deliver on the big stage and bring home a medal for the country.
