The Indian women's 4x400m relay team is all set to compete at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Indian women’s team comprises Rupal Chaudhary, M R Poovamma, Jyothika Sri Dandi, and Subha Venkatesan.
India competed at the 2024 World Athletics Relays in Nassau, Bahamas, in their quest to qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024. By finishing second in the second-round heats event in the Bahamas, the team qualified for the quadrennial event in Paris.
The quartet clocked three minutes and 29.35 seconds, finishing behind Jamaica in their heat No. 1 to qualify. For the second round, Rupal replaced Vithya Ramraj, who competed in the first. The Indian team had faced disappointment in the first round after finishing fifth with a timing of three minutes and 29.74 seconds.
After the completion of the first leg of round two of the five-team race event, India's Rupal was languishing at the last spot. However, Jhyothika swindled the advantage towards India following a massive run by the quarter-miler. The Indian women's 4x400m relay team rode on the advantage and eventually booked their ticket to Paris.
The top two teams in each of the three heats in the second round were supposed to qualify for the Olympics. The top 14 teams, in each event of the competition, obtained their respective countries an Olympic quota for the Games in Paris.

The Indian women's 4x400m relay team would be looking forward to their participation in Paris. The team had missed qualifying for the previous Summer Games in Tokyo.
Paris Olympics 2024 will be the eighth time that the Indian women's 4x400m relay team will be competing at the Games. Their first appearance came at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
Sixteen teams will be competing at the women's 4x400m relay event in Paris. Round one will be held on Friday, August 9, at Stade de France. The final is scheduled for Sunday, August 11.
