How did Rajeshwari Kumari qualify for the Paris Olympics 2024?

Rajeshwari Kumari is a shooter and co-founder of the luxury brand design company Saurab Rajeshwari. The Delhi-born trap shooter performed impressively at the Olympic Selection Trials to get a call-up for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Rajeshwari started her shooting career around 2014. She kept rising through the domestic competitions before earning an international call-up for the Indian team in 2021. The 32-year-old competed at the 2021 ISSF World Cup and won her maiden international medal (silver) in the women's trap team event.

Last year, Rajeshwari became the second female in Indian history to earn an Olympic quota in the women's trap event. She finished fifth at the ISSF World Championship in Baku to earn the quota. Earlier, during the qualification rounds, she had broken her national record with a score of 120.

Rajeshwari Kumari continued her impressive form at the Olympic Selection Trials. She finished at the top with a final average score of 12 to edge out Shreyasi Singh. The 32-year-old is among the oldest on the Indian shooting team for the Paris Olympics and will represent India in the women's trap event.

Can Rajeshwari Kumari win a medal for India at the Paris Olympics in 2024?

Although Rajeshwari Kumari doesn't have a lot of international experience, she has gained ground for a long time in the domestic circuits. The 32-year-old is the national record holder in the women's trap event and can consistently hover around the 118 mark, which may be enough to qualify her for the finals at the Paris Olympics.

Rajeshwari is coached by David Kostelecky, a two-time Olympic medalist. She has been practicing independently with the Czech coach for the Olympics. Her prospects of winning a medal in Paris remain low, but if she can consistently breach the 120 mark, Rajeshwari might return with a medal from France.
