[In Pictures] Indian contingent flaunts their outfit for the Paris Olympics 2024 Opening Ceremony
The much-awaited Paris Olympics 2024 opening ceremony is revolving around the corner and India will be one of the biggest-ever contingents, representative of the vast talent that this country has across a vast array of disciplines.
For the first time this year, the opening ceremony is going to be something different because just like traditional norms, it will not take place in a stadium this time. Instead, the athletes will come in by water and will cruise down the Seine River; some of the historic Paris landmarks that abut the route include the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral and the Louvre.
It is pertinent to mention that India's top-rated badminton player, PV Sindhu, and table tennis master, Achanta Sharath Kamal, will be the country's flag-bearers in the prestigious opening ceremony.
A recent post from the IOA Instagram handle featuring Gagan Narang, the Chef de Mission, along with the Deputy Chef de Mission, among others, reads:
"And, we’re all set for the Opening Ceremony! Tune in for a unique Opening Ceremony which will be the first for the Summer Olympics where the ceremony will be held outside a stadium! The parade of athletes will be held on River Seine!
