Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant sends best wishes to Indian athletes ahead of Paris Olympics 2024
Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant has extended his best wishes to the Indian Olympic athletes heading into the Paris Olympics 2024. The multi-sport event, officially known as the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, is slated to take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024, with a variety of preliminary competitions kicking off on July 24. This will be a grand event of 32 different sports and 329 medal events.
India has flown in a strong 117-strong contingent, which will be gunning to do better than the seven-medal haul at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Pant took to Twitter to share his encouragement through a video message and said:
"Hello, India. Let's come together and support our Indian Olympic athletes who have been working tirelessly throughout the years to make our country proud. Let's show appreciation for their hard work as they shine on the biggest stage of the world."
As India gets ready to travel to Sri Lanka for a white-ball series, Rishabh Pant has been named in both the ODI and T20I squads as he juggles cricket commitments with being there to show support for fellow athletes.
Indian Olympic athletes to compete across 16 disciplines at Paris Olympics
The Indian Olympic athletes will compete in 16 disciplines at the Paris 2024 Olympics: archery, athletics, badminton, equestrian, boxing, golf, hockey, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, tennis, weightlifting, wrestling, and judo.
Rishabh Pant's message further goes on to underline the collective spirit of unity that rises through the amplitude as the nation comes out to support Indian athletes on the global stage.
The vast list includes some top-notch Indian players like Neeraj Chopra, Kishore Jena, Annu Rani, PV Sindhu, and Manpreet Singh, among others, across various disciplines.
The 2024 Olympics will be a season of great excitement, and with sportspeople of Rishabh Pant's ilk on board, the team representing India will surely feel the pulse of their motherland in every attempt to conquer.
