Indian shooting at Paris Olympics 2024: Venue, start and end dates, Indian contingent size
A 21-member shooting contingent is all set to represent India in the Paris Olympics 2024, set to take place from July 26 to August 11. For the first time, India have secured a quota in every Olympic shooting discipline.
There are eight shooters in the rifle discipline and seven in pistol, while the shotgun team consists of six members.
Manu Bhaker, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Anjum Moudgil, and Elavenil Valarivan will be making their second Olympic appearances while the other 11 rifle and pistol shooters are set to make their debuts in the Games. All shotgun members will be making their first appearances in the global event.
The Tokyo Olympics saw the 15-member shooting team return with no medals for the country. Apart from pistol shooter Saurabh Chaudhary, none of the athletes advanced to the final events.
Shooting venues for Paris Olympics 2024
The Chateauroux Shooting Centre will host all the shooting events at the Paris Olympics 2024. The venue is located about two hours from Paris and was inaugurated by the French Shooting Federation in 2018.
After the completion of the construction of the finals building in 2022, the venue can now host international pistol and rifle finals.
