Mexican boxer Marco Verde will take on the Indian boxer Nishant Dev in the men’s 71kg boxing event at the Paris Olympics 2024 on Sunday, August 4.
Notably, Marco Verde, the second seed, is the defending Pan American Games champion in the 71kg category. The 22-year-old Verde defeated Jose Rodriguez in the Pan American Games final to make the cut for Paris Olympics 2024.
Interestingly, Dev defeated the same opponent in his Round of 16 bout by 3-2 decision to make it to the quarterfinal. Marco Verde received bye in the first round and defeated Tiago Muxanga of Mozambique by 3-2 split decision in the pre-quarterfinal to storm into the quarterfinal at the Paris Olympics 2024.
