World No. 13 recurve archer Michelle Kroppen from Germany will lock horns with the former World No. 1 archer from India, Deepika Kumari in the Round of 16 contest at the ongoing Paris Olympics 2024 on Saturday, August 3. Kroppen is freshly coming into the contest on the back of a mixed team event silver medal after losing to South Korea by 0-6 in the final at the Paris Olympics 2024.
While Kroppen finished at the seventh spot with 670 (her season best) in the ranking round, Deepika Kumari could only score 658 to settle for the 23rd rank. However, Kroppen has the career-best throw of 680 compared to Deepika’s 686.
Interestingly, Michelle Kroppen also propelled the women's team to a bronze medal victory at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021. Furthermore, she bagged multiple medals for the women's team, mixed team, and individually at the World Championships, European Games, and European Championships.
