Neeraj Chopra back in training after silver medal win at the Paris 2024 Olympics
India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is back in training in Germany after winning a silver medal at the recently concluded Paris 2024 Olympics.
In a social media post shared by a fan on X, Neeraj can be seen performing grip ball pull-ups. This form of exercise is good for developing core and leg muscles, as the Indian athlete has been suffering from a niggling adductor injury for the last two to three years.

When can fans expect to see Neeraj Chopra next?
Owing to his injury, Neeraj delayed his homecoming after the conclusion of the Paris 2024 Olympics and is instead recuperating in Germany. He is seeking medical advice about adductor surgery, which will effectively rule him out from the upcoming Diamond League game in Lausanne, starting on August 22.
He is also expected to miss the Diamond League games in Zurich, among others, as well as the final game in Brussels on September 13.
Neeraj Chopra has long been plagued by an ongoing issue with his adductor muscle, which has led to him missing out most of this season until the Paris 2024 Olympics. Even in the Summer Olympic Games, Neeraj was not at his best as he fell short of the gold medal at the Stade de France. Despite throwing his season’s best effort in the men’s javelin throw final, he had to settle for a silver medal behind Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem.
Fans will hope that Neeraj Chopra will return to the tracks when India hosts the SAFF Athletics Championships in Ranchi from October 4. The SAFF Championships will provide Neeraj with a chance to compete against athletes from a number of countries on his home turf, which was his wish after his Paris 2024 showing.
In fact, Neeraj spoke to the Olympics website after the Paris 2024 Games and said (as per H/T):
“It’s a dream of mine to compete with other international stars in India. Hopefully, there will be an international competition soon in India and I can do that.”
However, Neeraj Chopra’s participation in the SAFF Championships event is yet to be confirmed as of now, and will likely depend on the progress of his adductor injury recovery.
