New AFI Logo unveiled by Sports Minister at National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, unveiled the new logo of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula, Haryana. The event took place amid the excitement of the 63rd National Inter-State Athletics Championships 2024, a crucial qualifying event for Indian athletes aiming for the Paris Olympics 2024.

The tournament is the final chance for the Indian athletes to qualify for Paris Olympics and thus holds a lot of significance.

Amid fanfare at the tournament, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya revealed the new logo of India’s athletics body, AFI. The AFI made the announcement on their social media handles on Saturday, June 29, highlighting the importance of the moment.

"Hon'ble Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya unveils the new AFI logo in the presence of AFI president Adille Sumariwalla in Panchkula today during the National Inter-State Athletics Championship," the AFI wrote on X.

“I am confident that our athletes will perform their best in the Paris Olympics,” - Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on his aspirations for the Summer Games

Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya also had a word or two on the Indian athletes at the Inter-State Championships. He hoped for them to give their best to secure a berth for the Paris Olympics 2024.

He highlighted the growth of Indian sports over the last decade and how the government is working to improve the sports infrastructure and give the best possible facilities to the athletes.

“Under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji’s leadership, the government is working to strengthen sports infrastructure. The progress made in the field of sports in the last 10 years has been very encouraging,” said Dr. Mandaviya (via The Bridge).

He further expressed his optimism about India's performance at the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris, which will take place from July 26 to August 11.

“I am confident that our athletes will perform their best in the Paris Olympics,” Dr. Mandaviya added.
