"Our Indian contingent will surely win more medals" - Ramita Jindal after exit from Paris Olympics

Ramita Jindal played the final of the women's 10m air rifle event today (July 29) at the Paris Olympics 2024 to finish seventh. Despite a positive start to the competition, she failed to make a podium finish. Her 10th shot brought her 9.7 points and dropped her down to the seventh spot. After a shoot-off with France's Oceanne Mueller, she bowed out of the final, registering 10.5 points in that shot compared to Mueller's 10.8.

Jindal tallied a total of 145.3 points at what was her first-ever final at the Olympics. At the mere age of 20, she has already won gold medals at the World Championships and World Cups, and fans believe this is just the beginning of a bright future for her. She has gained immense experience from this outing and will look to make a stronger comeback at the next Summer Games.

Post the final, Ramita Jindal engaged in a conversation with ANI. She said:

"The experience in this Olympics was great. There were a lot of things I learnt here, I will use this experience in the next season. After Manu Bhaker's medal, Indian players have got a lot of confidence. We are all motivated and everyone is really excited in the team."

Manu Bhaker won a bronze medal for India yesterday in the 10m air pistol event. Speaking of her achievement, Ramita Jindal said:

"Manu is also an inspriation for me. When I started shooting, she was already in Tokyo. She was really in good form back then. I have been in the team for four years and observing her. She is very hardworking and she definitely deserves the medal."

India has won only one medal till now at the ongoing Games and there's definitely more to follow. Speaking of her expectations from the other shooters in the team, the young shooter said:

"Our Indian contingent will surely win more medals. We have trained hard and everyone is very competitive and in good form to perform well."

Indian shooting team's performance at Paris Olympics 2024 Day 3

As of now, only Manu Bhaker has won a bronze medal for India at the Paris Olympics. She, along with Sarabjot Singh, are also representing the nation at the mixed 10m air pistol event and will compete in the bronze medal-match tomorrow against South Korea, after registering a solid performance today (580 points).

Arjun Babuta, another talented shooter, who took part in the men's 10m air rifle event, ended his campaign on the fourth position, narrowly missing out on a bronze medal, despite performing well for most part of the event.
