Paralympics 2024: Full list of Indian medallists in Paris
The Paris Paralympics 2024 has seen the Indian medallists clinch a historic 29 medals, including a record-breaking seven gold medals, nine silver medals, and 13 bronze medals. India also surpassed the 50-medal mark in its overall Paralympic Games medal haul. India has been competing in the Paralympic Games since making its debut in Tel Aviv in 1968.
Paris 2024 has been the most successful Paralympic Games ever for India. The Indians massively improved their performance at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020, where the para-athletes won five gold medals and 19 medals overall.
The excellent performance by the Indian medallists throughout the Paris Paralympics 2024 has placed the nation 18th in the medal tally. China is the runaway leader, having amassed a massive collection of 217 medals so far.
The event in Paris saw several past Paralympic gold medalists retain their top spots, including para javelin thrower Sumit Antil and para rifle shooter Avani Lekhara. There were several surprising gold-medal winners as well, such as para-athlete Navdeep Singh and para-badminton player Nitesh Kumar.
