Paris 2024 Olympics: What is Jyothika Sri Dandi's personal best in women's 4x400m relay?
India's Jyothika Sri Dandi will compete in the women's 4x400m relay event at the Paris Olympics 2024. She is a part of the women's relay team, alongside MR Poovamma, Subha Venkatesan, Vithya Ramraj and Kiran Pahal, at the global event.
Jyothika's personal best in the 4x400m relay came at the National Open Relay Carnival 2024 in Chandigarh. She, along with Rupal Chaudhary, Poovamma and Subha, completed the race with a timing of 3:28.64 to win the gold medal.
Interestingly, this year also saw the 24-year-old produce her personal best in the 400m. She clocked 51.53s at the Indian Grand Prix-3 in Bengaluru to finish with a gold medal.
Jyothika gained recognition by winning a gold in 400m at the National Under 23 Athletics Championship 2021 and a silver medal in 4x400m relay at the 2021 National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships in Patiala.
The following year saw her progress well with podium finishes in individual, women's and mixed events in the 400m. Notably, she clinched gold in the mixed event at the National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships in Chennai.
In 2023, Jyothika Sri Dandi had first-place finishes at the Asian Athletics Championships in, Bangkok and the National Games in Bambolim, both coming in the 4x400m relay event.
Interestingly, during the same year, the talented athletes came first in 400m at the Indian Open 400m Championships and Indian Grand Prix (both in Trivandrum) and Indian Grand Prix in Bengaluru.
Jyothika Sri Dandi's performances ahead of Paris Olympics 2024
Apart from the aforementioned personal best performances this year, Jyothika Sri Dandi has done well in other competitions as well.
The quartet of Jyothika, Rupal, Poovamma and Subha finished second with a timing of 3:29.35 at the World Athletics Relays in Bahamas. This performance helped India earn a quota at the Paris Olympics.
In the 400m events, she clinched a silver medal at the National Open 400m Competition in Trivandrum and a gold medal at the Indian Grand Prix-3 in Bengaluru.
Then, she won the bronze at the National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships in Panchkula. During the same event, the sprinter secured a gold medal with a timing of 3:12.87 in the mixed 4x400m relay event.
