Paris 2024 Olympics: What is Parul Chaudhary's personal best in 5000m?
Parul Chaudhary will represent India in the 5000m and 3000m steeplechase events at the Paris Olympics 2024. She will be one of the two athletes from the country participating in multiple events at the Games.
In May 2023, the runner produced her best performance in the 5000m event with a timing of 15:10.35 in the California Track Festival.
Chaudhary's personal best performance in the 3000m steeplechase events came at the World Athletics Championship in Budapest in July 2023. She finished with a timing of 9:15.31 and breached the Paris qualification mark of 9:23.00 to qualify for the Games.
Chaudhary's personal best performances are also national records in respective events. Interestingly, she is the first runner from India to complete the 3000m race in less than nine minutes (8:57.19) in the Sound Running Sunset Tour 2022.
After failing to qualify for the 2018 Asian Games and the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, Parul Chaudhary has been training under Jaiveer Singh, a renowned former international athlete, which has helped her progress well in her career.

29-year-old Parul Chaudhary has an impressive track record in the 5000m and 3000m steeplechase events in the Asian competitions.
She clinched a bronze at the 2019 Asian Athletics Championships, Doha in the 5000m event. The 2023 edition of the same tournament witnessed her win gold and silver in the 3000m steeplechase and 5000m, respectively.
In the 2022 Asian Games, Chaudhary was impressive yet again, as she secured a gold and silver in the 5000m and 3000m steeplechase events, respectively.
Her other accolades include being a recipient of the Arjuna Award in 2023, marking her presence in the Forbes India 30 Under 30 list for 2024 and winning the Aces Award’s Sportswoman of the Year 2024.
Chaudhary is undergoing training at a high-altitude center in Colorado, USA for the Paris Olympics 2024.
