Paris 2024 Olympics: What is Santhosh Tamilarasan's personal best in men's 4x400m relay?
Santhosh Tamilarasan will represent India at the men's 4x400m relay event at the Paris 2024 Olympics. He will compete in the first round of the Games on August 9.
Tamilarasan's personal best in the men's 4x400m relay came at the Asian Relays in Bangkok this year. The quartet of Tamilarasan, Muhammed Anas Yahiya, Mijo Chacko Kurian and Arokia Rajiv clocked 3:05.76 to finish with a silver medal in the competition.
2018 proved to be a breakthrough year for the Tamil Nadu-born sprinter, as he had podium finishes in the 400m hurdles in various national competitions. Although he finished second in the heat round at the Asian Games, he finished fifth in the final round.
The South Asian Games in Kathmandu in 2019 witnessed him finish with a timing of 3:08.21 and secure a silver medal in the men's 4x400m relay. The success in this competition propelled him to continue participating in the relay events.
Interestingly, in 2022, the 26-year-old made a podium finish in a plethora of events in the 400m hurdles event. Meanwhile, Santhosh Tamilarasan found success in the men's 4x400m relay as well, securing medals at the National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships in Chennai, Inter-Services Athletics Championships in Jalahalli and the Indian National Games in Gujarat.
Tamilarasan was terrific yet again in the 400m hurdles event in 2023, as he finished with a gold at the Indian Grand Prix, LNCPE in Trivandrum and silvers at the Federation Cup in Trivandrum and the National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar and bronze at the Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok.
Also, the talented athlete won a gold medal in the men's 4x400m relay with a timing of 3:06.75 at the National Inter-State Senior Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar.
The Asian Games in Hangzhou saw Tamilarasan finish sixth with a timing of 49.41 in the final round of 400m hurdles.

Santhosh Tamilarasan found success in most of his participations in 2024, while plying his trade in the 400m, 400m hurdles, men's 4x400m relay and mixed 4x400m relay events.
Apart from getting qualified through Asian Relays, Tamilarasan secured a silver medal in the men's 4x400m relay at the National Open Relay Carnival, Sports Complex in Chandigarh with a timing of 3:06.82. Interestingly, he produced his personal best of 46.02 in 400m at the National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships.
It will be interesting to see how he fares at the Paris Olympics, which will be his debut campaign in the Games.
