Paris 2024 Olympics: What is Sarvesh Kushare's personal best in high jump?

Sarvesh Kushare will represent India in the men's high jump event at the Paris Olympics 2024. The qualification round has been scheduled for Wednesday, August 7.

Kushare's personal best came at the Indian National Championship in Gujarat in October 2022. He finished with a gold medal, registering a jump of 2.27m.

The 29-year-old couldn't breach the Paris qualification mark of 2.30m but secured his Olympic quota by finishing 23rd in the cut-off list of 32 in the Road To Paris rankings by World Athletics.

In 2022, Kushare secured first-place finishes in events like the Federation Cup in Thenhipalam, the National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships in Chennai and the Indian Grand Prix in Bhubaneswar.

In the following year, Sarvesh Kushare gained recognition by winning a silver at the Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok. Then, the videos of him landing on a pit made of cattle feed and other agricultural waste in his village also went viral.

By virtue of winning gold at the National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships in Bhubaneshwar, he qualified for the 2022 Asian Games. In the global event, Kushare finished fourth with a jump of 2.26m.

Sarvesh Kushare has had an impressive 2024 season ahead of the Paris Olympics. He started the year by finishing first at the Bryan Clay Invitational in California with a jump of 2.19m.

Then, Kushare again won gold at the Mt. SAC Relays in Hilmer Lodge Stadium, with a jump of 2.23m.

He jumped 2.15m for a fifth-place finish at the USATF Throws Festival in Arizona, followed by a silver medal-winning jump of 2.23m at the Franson Last Chance in California.

Kushare finished with a gold at the XXXIII Qosanov Memorial in Almaty with a jump of 2.23m. In June, the talented athlete finished in first place with a jump of 2.25m at the National Inter State Senior Athletics Championships in Panchkula.
