The Indian mixed archery team is all set to lock horns with Spain in the quarter-final of the mixed team event in archery in the Paris Olympics 2024. Esplanade des Invalides in Paris will host the event on Friday, August 2.
Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat will look to take India to the semi-finals with another clinical showing in the quarter-final match. The duo of Dhiraj and Ankita turned out to be too hot to handle for their opposition pair of Diananda Choirunsia and Arif Pangestu.
Seeded fifth, Dhiraj and Ankita mustered five tens and secured their berth in the top eight. They won the opening set 37-36 before drawing the second. The duo then won the third set to ensure victory.
The Spanish pair of Elia Canales and Acha Gonzales defeated Xiaozhou Wang and Wang Yan from China 6-2 in the Round of 16 and set up a clash against India. Spain took the lead right from the outset, and they did not look back from thereon. India, on the other hand, got the better Indonesia 5-1 in the Round of 16.
