Indian men’s archery team finishes 3rd in rankings; get direct entry into the quarterfinals at Paris Olympics 2024, mixed team handed tough draw
The stellar show put on by India’s Dhiraj Bommadevara, Tarundeep Rai, and Pravin Jadhav in the ranking round propelled India into third place in the men’s team rankings. Their combined effort helped secure a score of 2013, putting them behind South Korea (2049) in first and hosts France (2025) in second.
The Indian team has received a bye in the first round and will face the winner of Colombia and Turkey in the quarterfinals on July 29 at 18:31 IST. Finishing third also ensures that the Indian team will avoid facing archery powerhouses South Korea or China until the finals.
Meanwhile, India’s mixed team, consisting of Dhiraj Bmmadevara and Ankita Bhakat, has a tough draw ahead. The duo will take on Indonesia on August 2 at 13:19 IST in their pre-quarterfinal match, but should they advance, they will potentially face China in the quarterfinals and top seeds South Korea in the last four.
