Paris Olympics 2024: India Schedule Today, Match List on July 25

There are still a couple of days for action to begin at the Paris Olympics 2024, which will host its opening ceremony on Friday (July 26). The ranking rounds for archery, however, will be held a day earlier.

A host of Indian archers will take to the Les Invalides range in hopes of securing the best possible ranking in the ranking rounds — which in turn decide both the individual and team seeding.

Leading the charge in the women’s section for India will be Deepika Kumari, who is playing in her fourth Olympic Games. The Ranchi-based athlete has come close to the medal rounds once, reaching the quarter-finals at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and will be looking to start on the front foot.

Kumari will be joined by Bhajan Kaur and Ankita Bhakat in the women’s ranking round.

Bhakat is a first-time Olympian, but has other impressive laurels to her name including a World Youth Archery Championships gold and an Asian Games bronze.

Kaur, who was also a part of the bronze medal-winning Asian Games team, has also been in good touch coming into the Paris Olympics. She won gold at the Paris Olympics qualifiers held in Turkey earlier last month.

Tarundeep Rai will also be in action in the men's ranking round.

On the men’s side of things, Dhiraj Bommadevara will be the favorite to secure one of the top seeding. The World No. 12 has been in good form coming into the Paris Olympics, having secured an Individual bronze at the Antalya World Cup in 2023 and the Shanghai Team gold earlier this year.

Tarundeep Rai, meanwhile, is also geared up to make his fourth appearance at the sporting extravaganza. Before the Paris Olympics, he has played at Tokyo in 2020, Rio in 2016, London in 2012 and Athens in 2004.

's-Hertogenbosch 2019 World Championships Team event silver medalist Pravin Ramesh Jadhav rounds out the Indian squad.

With plenty depending on the crucial ranking rounds, which will have a total of 128 athletes, 64 men and women each shoot a maximum of 72 arrows to gain the seeding from 1–64 based on their score for both the Individual and Team events. Here’s the full schedule for Indian athletes:
