Paris Olympics 2024 Indian Table Tennis Squad: Complete list of paddlers in the Indian contingent ft. Sharath Kamal and Manika Batra

The Indian Table Tennis team is poised to make history at the Paris Olympics 2024 by securing India’s first-ever medal in the sport.

This year could be the perfect opportunity for India as it will mark the first time that India will have representation in table tennis team events. The Indian table tennis team will be spearheaded by Commonwealth Games gold medallist Sharath Kamal and veteran paddler Manika Batra.

The Indian table tennis athletes qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024 based on their world rankings in March 2024. They also got two quotas each in the men’s and women’s singles categories.

Sharath Kamal will be backed by Harmeet Desai and Manav Thakkar in the men’s team, with G. Sathiyan going in as a reserve player. Kamal and Harmeet will also feature in the men’s singles event.

Talking about the women’s team, Sreeja Akula and Archana Kamath will join hands with Manika Batra. Ayhika Mukherjee, meanwhile, will be a reserve player. Manika and Sreeja will also ply their trade in women’s singles.

The team is a perfect mix of experience and youth with Sharath set to play in his fifth and last appearance at the Summer Olympics. Meanwhile, Manika will be featuring for the third consecutive time. With so much experience on their backs, they’ll be eyeing that elusive podium finish at the Olympics for the maiden time.

G Sathiyan featured in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics last time but failed to secure a spot in the team for the Paris Olympics 2024. All other paddlers will be making their debut at the Olympics and will aim to make it a memorable one.
