Paris Olympics 2024: Mansukh Mandaviya reviews India's preparation in a high-level meeting
Paris Olympics 2024 is about to begin on July 26. India is preparing itself for the auspicious event. In order to keep track of everything, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, called for a high-level meeting on Friday, July 12. The primary agenda of the meeting was to review the preparation of the athletes who are taking part in the Paris Olympics.
For more smooth working of different groups, Mandaviya assigned duties to a coordination group. The primary function of the group will be to address and resolve any issue that comes up during preparations and at the time of the Paris Olympics.
“As our athletes enter this critical phase of preparation and competition, it's essential that we ensure they are in the best physical and mental condition to excel,” Dr. Mandaviya said while communicating Prime Minister Narendra Modi's message to the athletes.
Dr. Mandaviya ensured his complete support to the athletes and their management. He was also satisfied while knowing the fact that more than 80% of the athletes are already training in different locations in Europe. Their training in Europe will help the athletes to get comfortable with the conditions and ready for the final showdown in the Paris Olympics.
In 2014, the government also launched the Target Olympic Podium Scheme. The primary target of the scheme is to make sure that every athlete is getting the best possible preparations for the Olympics. According to the scheme, the athletes will get world-class coaches and experts to enhance training programs to make sure they are prepared for the big stage.
