Paris Olympics 2024 Medal Count Day 10: Updated Gold, Bronze & Silver medal tally for all countries

China took the lead in the Paris Olympics 2024 medal tally on Monday, securing the top position with a total of 21 gold medals. This saw them edge ahead of the United States, which stands second with 20 golds.

China now leads with a medal count of 53, comprising 21 gold, 18 silver, and 14 bronze medals. The United States, although ahead in the total medal count with 78, trails China in gold medals but has an impressive 30 silvers and 28 bronzes.

Australia's remarkable performance has propelled them past the Paris Olympics 2024 host nation, France, with 13 golds, while France and Great Britain are tied for fourth place, each boasting 12 gold medals.

Australia now sit third with 32 medals: 13 gold, 11 silver, and eight bronze. France and Great Britain, both with 12 golds, are separated by their silver and bronze counts, with France slightly ahead in fourth place due to its higher tally of 15 silvers and 18 bronze medals, compared to Great Britain's 13 silver and 17 bronze.

South Korea and Japan follow closely with 11 and 10 golds, respectively, highlighting a competitive edge in various disciplines. Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands round out the top ten.

India, despite a promising start, remains in the sixtieth position with three bronze medals, all in shooting. Manu Bhaker has been a standout performer claiming 2 medals herself, leading India's charge in this discipline.


A heartbreaking Day 10 for India at the Paris Olympics 2024

India experienced a heartbreaking Day 10 at the Paris Olympics 2024, narrowly missing out on two bronze medals. Lakshya Sen, after winning the first set, lost to Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia in the men's singles badminton bronze medal match.

The mixed team skeet shooting duo, Maheshwari Singh and Anant Jeet Singh Naruka were edged out by China with a close 43-44 score, missing the bronze medal by just one point.

In sailing, Vishnu Saravanan finished 18th in the men's dinghy, while Nethra Kumanan placed 21st in the women's dinghy overall standings. Unfortunately, only the top ten advance to the medal race, leaving both sailors disqualified.

The women’s table tennis team showcased their skills, defeating Romania 3-2 in the round of sixteen, thus advancing to the quarterfinals.

In athletics, Kiran Pahal secured a spot in the repechage round by finishing seventh in her heat for the women's 400m in Paris Olympics 2024. Avinash Sable also performed admirably, finishing fifth in his heat for the men’s 3000m steeplechase and securing a place in the final.

In wrestling, Nisha Dahiya advanced to the women’s 68kg quarterfinals by defeating Ukraine’s Tetiana Sova Rizhko 6-4. However, she later lost to North Korea’s Pak Sol Gum 10-8, after dislocating her finger that ended her medal hopes.
