Paris Olympics 2024 Medal Count Day 4: Updated Gold, Bronze & Silver Medal Tally for all countries

Japan extended its lead in the Paris Olympics 2024 Medal Count at the end of Day 4. With seven golds under their belt, Japan is at the top of the medal standings with a total of 13 medals, including two silver and four bronze medals as well.

China, meanwhile, is currently in the second position. Although they have a total of 14 medals, which is more than Japan, they stand below the latter due to a lower gold medal count. China currently has six golds, as many silvers, and two bronze medals.

Australia has six golds, four silvers, and one bronze medal to occupy third place with a total of 11 medals. Australia is followed by the hosts France, whose total medal count is the highest at 18 medals but has five golds, nine silvers, and four bronze medals.

Talking about India, there have been just two medals - both bronze so far for them, and is placed at the 33rd spot.

Who has won the medals for India as of Day 4 at the Paris Olympics 2024?

India’s bronze medals include one common name - Manu Bhaker. She scripted history on Sunday, July 28, by becoming the first female Indian shooter to win a medal. Manu Bhaker clinched a bronze medal in the individual women’s 10m air pistol event.

Later, on Day 4, i.e., Tuesday, July 30, Bhaker added another bronze to her cabinet alongside Sarabjot Singh after defeating the Koreans in the bronze medal match of the mixed 10m air pistol event.

Thus, she became the first Indian post-independence to win multiple medals at a single Olympic Games, and also the first Indian shooter to win two medals at the Olympics.

She now has an opportunity to claim the third medal when she takes part in the women’s 25m air pistol event, starting August 2.
