The USA follows closely with a total of 37 medals, although their nine golds place them second in the rankings. France, the host nation, is performing strongly with 27 medals, featuring eight golds, capturing the local support and spirit.
Australia and Japan are neck-and-neck, each with eight golds, but Australia edges out with a higher total of 18 medals compared to Japan's 16. Great Britain maintains a solid presence with 20 medals, six of which are gold, while South Korea has 12 medals, including six golds in the Paris Olympics 2024.

The third one was claimed by Swapnil Kusale in the 50m rifle 3P event on Thursday. While gold has eluded them thus far, the nation's athletes continue to strive for higher achievements.
A mixed Day 6 for India at the Paris Olympics 2024
India experienced a rollercoaster of emotions on Day 6 of the Paris Olympics 2024. Swapnil Kusale brought joy by winning a bronze medal in the men's 50m rifle three positions final.
However, the nation's shooting hopes were dampened as Anjum Moudgil and Sift Kaur Samra were knocked out in the women's 50m rifle three positions qualification.
Badminton witnessed mixed fortunes for Indian shuttlers. Lakshya Sen triumphed over compatriot HS Prannoy, advancing to the men's singles quarterfinals in the first-ever all-Indian badminton affair in the history of the Olympic Games. However, the formidable duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty faced a shocking exit in the men's doubles round of 16, losing to Malaysia's Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik.
The day ended in heartbreak as PV Sindhu’s quest for a third Olympic medal was dashed after she lost to China's He Bing Jiao in the women's singles round of 16.
India's hockey team also faced disappointment, losing 2-1 to Belgium after initially leading 1-0. In athletics, Vikash finished 30th in the men's 20km race walk final, while Priyanka Goswami came in 41st in the women's 20km race walk. In boxing, Nikhat Zareen was knocked out of the Paris Olympics in the Women's 50kg Round of 16, losing 0-5 to China's Wu Yu.
