Paris Olympics 2024 Shooting: Prithviraj Tondaiman finishes a disappointing 21st in Men’s Trap qualification; out of the final event
Indian shooter Prithviraj Tondaiman faced a tough challenge at the Paris Olympics 2024, finishing 21st in the Men’s Trap qualification on Tuesday (July 30) with 118 points to miss out on the final event. Tondaiman, making his Olympic debut at the age of 37, had a rocky start on the first day of the competition.
He ended the day in 30th place, posting scores of 22 in the first round, a perfect 25 in the second, and 21 in the third. Despite his efforts, the initial setback placed him in a difficult position moving forward.
On the second day, Prithviraj Tondaiman looked way better. He shot a perfect 25 out of 25 in the fourth round, moving up five places to 25th. He continued this impressive form into the fifth and final round, once again hitting all 25 targets. His total score of 118, however, was not sufficient to secure a spot in the finals, as only the top six shooters advanced.
A better performance on the opening day of the qualification might have put Prithviraj Tondaiman in contention for the final, but he will now have to go back disappointed.
