Paris Paralympics 2024 Para Athlete: Simran finishes fourth in women’s 100m T12 final

In a fiercely contested final at the Paris Paralympics 2024, Simran represented India in the women’s 100m T12 event but ultimately finished fourth among the four finalists. Racing alongside some of the best athletes in her category, Simran, guided by Abhay Singh, clocked a time of 12.31 seconds.

The gold went to Cuba’s Omara Durand Elias, the world record holder and an undeniable force on the track. Durand, guided by Yuniol Kindelan Vargas, sprinted to victory with a stunning time of 11.81 seconds, securing the top spot with a season-best performance. Her exceptional speed reaffirmed her dominance in the event.

Following closely behind was Ukraine’s Oksana Boturchuk, who put in a solid performance with a time of 12.17 seconds, earning her the silver medal. Her precise coordination with her guide, Mykyta Barabanov, helped her set a season-best result. Germany’s Katrin Mueller-Rottgardt claimed bronze, crossing the line in 12.26 seconds, equaling her season-best, alongside her guide Noel-Philippe Fiener.
