PM Narendra Modi, Abhinav Bindra share heartfelt wishes as Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh claim second bronze for India at Paris 2024
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and former gold medalist Abhinav Bindra extended their heartfelt congratulations to Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh.
The pair secured India’s second medal at the Paris Olympics by beating South Korea 16-10 in the 10m air pistol mixed team event to win bronze on Tuesday, July 30. This victory marks Bhaker’s second medal at the Paris Games, having previously earned an individual medal in the same discipline.
"Our shooters continue to make us proud! Congratulations to @realmanubhaker and Sarabjot Singh for winning the Bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event at the #Olympics. Both of them have shown great skills and teamwork. India is incredibly delighted," Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote.
"For Manu, this is her second consecutive Olympic medal, showcasing her consistent excellence and dedication. #Cheer4Bharat, " he added.

Former India gold medalist Abhinav Bindra also congratulates Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh on this achievement.

Hockey India president Dilip Kumar Tirkey and former Minister of Sports, Anurag Thakur also joined in wishing the duo.

Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh beat Jin Ye Oh and Wonho Lee to secure the second bronze medal for India
Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh secured a bronze medal for India in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event at the Paris Olympics 2024. They triumphed over South Korea's Jin Ye Oh and Wonho Lee with a score of 16-10 in a thrilling bronze-medal match.
India's journey to the podium didn't start smoothly, as the South Korean team clinched the first round with a score of 20.50. However, Manu and Sarabjot quickly regained their composure, bouncing back to take the second round with a score of 19.9, which put the South Koreans on the defensive.
Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh duo then built on their momentum, winning the next two rounds with scores of 20.8 and 20.7, which extended their lead to 4-2. Once they were ahead, Manu and Sarabjot kept up the pressure, eventually winning eight out of the 13 rounds.
Although Korea managed to take the 11th and 12th rounds by narrow margins of 0.50 and 0.20, India’s victory was imminent. Manu and Sarabjot maintained their focus and composure, ultimately ensuring India's place on the podium with a well-deserved bronze medal finish.
