PV Sindhu vs Saina Nehwal: How many times have they faced each other?
PV Sindhu and Saina Nehwal are two behemoths of Indian badminton. The duo have been an inspiration for young badminton players in India.
The two legends have met four times in the past, with Saina Nehwal winning thrice, and PV Sindhu coming out on top in one.
Their last meeting came at the Senior Badminton Nationals held in Guwahati in 2019, where Nehwal won in straight games, 21-18, 21-15.
PV Sindhu is currently preparing for the upcoming Paris Olympics 2024. She will begin her campaign at the Summer Olympics on July 27 at the Porte de la Chapelle Arena. Indian badminton contingent for the Olympics this year consists of seven members, where PV Sindhu will be the leading lady. She will also be the flag bearer for the country during the opening ceremony at the Games.
Saina Nehwal is still active on the court and has not shown signs of slowing down even at the age of 34. Since May 2019, Nehwal has been part of 20 tournaments but has not won any. In July 2019, she was ranked eighth in the world but currently, she is ranked 19th in the world ranking.

PV Sindhu will be part of the Olympics for the third consecutive time. She is 29 and a good performance is again expected from her this time. PV Sindhu won a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics and a bronze in 2020 Tokyo. She will be eyeing a gold for the country in Paris this year.
Saina Nehwal has not yet retired but has failed to qualify for the Olympics since 2012. She came into the spotlight at the 2012 London Olympics, where she won bronze and became the first woman to win an Olympic medal in Badminton for the country. She has won two singles golds in the Commonwealth Games in 2010, 2018, and a mixed doubles gold in 2018 as well.
