"So close yet so far" - Fans react to Ramita Jindal's outing at Paris Olympics 2024
Ramita Jindal ended seventh in the women's 10m air rifle final. Jindal was in a favorable position for a medal in the initial stage other shooters leapfrogged her as the competition progressed. Her 10th shot, which fetched 9.7 points, saw her drop down to the seventh spot. After a shoot-off with France's Oceanne Mueller, she got eliminated.
Although Ramita Jindal failed to achieve a podium finish at the Paris Olympics 2024, fans were not critical of her. At just 20, Ramita Jindal has already won gold medals in the World Championships and World Cups and has the potential to win an Olympic medal for the country.
Notably, back in the Athens Games in 2024, Abhinav Bindra had also finished seventh, and four years later he went on to win a gold medal. It is till date the only gold India has won in shooting.

One fan pointed out how the shooters are succumbing to the pressure. He posted:
"Arjun Babuta and Ramita Jindal stumble at the final hurdle. It's a clear pattern where Indian athletes just seem to crumble under the pressure of an Olympic final. Sad that Team India couldn't convert opportunities into medals today."
