Summer Olympics 2024: When does the Olympics start in Paris?
Summer Olympics 2024, the world’s biggest multi-sport event, is all set to be held from July 26 to August 11, 2024, in Paris, France. It will be the third time that Paris will be hosting the Summer Olympics after Paris 1900 and Paris 1924.
Also labeled as Paris 2024 or Paris Olympics 2024, the quadrennial event will have its opening ceremony on July 26. However, the action will begin even earlier, with football and rugby sevens kicking off on July 24, and archery and handball starting on July 25.
After almost 20 days of thrilling multi-sport competition, the closing ceremony of the Summer Olympics 2024 will take place on August 11 to wrap up the Games.
The Stade de France in Saint-Denis, with a capacity of over 80,000, will be the Olympic Stadium for the Summer Olympics 2024. Events will also be held in 17 different cities across metropolitan France and Tahiti.
A total of almost 10500 athletes will compete at the Summer Olympics 2024 with an equal division of male and female athletes for the first time ever in the history of the Games.
India at the Summer Olympics 2024
The Indian contingent will be participating in the Summer Olympics 2024 with the aim of making a bold statement. In the previous edition, Tokyo 2020, India achieved their highest-ever medal count with a total of seven medals.
Now, as the Paris Olympics 2024 comes near, the Indian contingent of close to almost 120 athletes will have their eyes on breaking the record. All eyes will be on javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, who was the sole gold medal winner for India last time, securing the first athletics gold ever for the nation.
Indian athletes will be competing across 16 sports, and the nation is hopeful for a historic performance.
