Indonesian archer Syifa Nurafifah Kamal represented her country most recently in three stages of the World Cup, putting up mediocre performances. With her best total score of 640 in the ongoing season, she will face a very tough challenge from the Indian ace archer Bhajan Kaur.
Interestingly, Kamal created her personal best total of 640 in the recently concluded rankings round at the Paris Olympics 2024 to put herself in the 43rd position. On the other hand, India's Bhajan Kaur ended at the 22nd rank with a total score of 659.
In the recently concluded World Cup stages in China, Korea, and Turkiye, Syifa was ranked 83rd, 69th, and 69th, respectively. Though the Indonesian archer might not pose a big challenge for the Indian archer in this contest, we can expect the former to put up a strong fight.
Kamal started taking the sport seriously in 2005, having won one gold medal in the National Sports Week in 2012. She later bagged two gold medals in her hometown in 2016. She has represented her home country in both women's individual and team categories so far in her career.
This contest against Bhajan Kaur might be a lop-sided one with the Indian archer being a strong favorite to win and make it to Round of 32.
