“Thank you for all sacrifices” – Manu Bhaker signs off from the Paris Olympics 2024 with an emotional message for her mother

Manu Bhaker sent a heartfelt message to her mother after she ended her campaign at the Paris Olympics 2024. Bhaker, who has garnered appreciation for her incredible performance in the ongoing event, thanked her mother for making sacrifices and helping her grow in her career.

On Saturday (August 3), Manu Bhaker did not have the ending that she would have wanted as she missed out on winning a medal in the 25m Air Pistol event. The 22-year-old finished fourth after she faltered in a shoot-off for the third place with Veronika Major of Hungary.

“The message I want to send her (Bhaker's mother) is thank you so much for all the sacrifices that you made because of which I was able to come outside the shadows of so many people. I love you so much and I hope you have a very good, healthy life, long life and you will be with me for as many years as possible,” Bhaker told Jio Cinema.

‘Hard work on the backstage’ for Manu Bhaker

Manu Bhaker suffered a heartbreak as a teenager in Tokyo where her pistol malfunctioned after which she contemplated quitting shooting. But she weathered the storm and made a stupendous comeback in Paris. She won the bronze medals in the individual and team events of 10m Air Pistol. Bhaker thanked her team for having her back and helping her perform well on the biggest stage.

“There has been a lot of hard work going on backstage and then I am what you see. But like so many people have been working hard so that I can make it to the podium and so that India can win a medal. And I am so happy that my entire team was there to support me,” Bhaker added.

Manu Bhaker joined PV Sindhu as one of the two Indian female athletes to win more than one medal in the Olympics. She also became the second athlete from India to win two medals in a single edition of the tournament after Norman Pritchard achieved the landmark in Paris in 1900.
