In one of the biggest surprises of the Paris 2024 Olympics, Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat pulled off a dramatic victory over Japan’s Yui Susaki in the women’s freestyle 50kg category. The match at the Bercy Arena saw Phogat get the better of the reigning Olympic champion and four-time world champion (2017, 2018, 2022 and 2023) 3-2.
Yui Susaki entered the Olympics as the top seed and a dominant force in the 50kg category.
